A run level is a state of init and the whole system that defines what system services are operating. Run levels are identified by numbers. Some system administrators use run levels to define which subsystems are working.

0 Halt To shut down the system
1 Single User Mode Generally used by administration to update perform the maintain of the system
2 Multi User Without NFS Using the multi user mode by disabling NFS
3 Multi User Without GUI Mostly used by a professional user on server side
4 Not Used
5 Multi User With GUI It is the DEFAULT run level mostly used by NAIVE user
6 Reboot To Restart the system
